A SECURITY GUARD HID HIS FACE WHEN HE SAW HIS CEO SON ENTER THE BUILDING HE WAS GUARDING BECAUSE HE DIDN’T WANT TO EMBARRASS HIM IN FRONT OF EMPLOYEES

At 7:00 a.m. on Ayala Avenue, Makati. The Golden Horizon Tower glistens in the sunlight. It is one of the tallest and most prestigious buildings in the business district.

At the entrance to the building, Lita’s mother was standing.

She is a 58-year-old Marine Corps veteran. Dressed in his planted uniform, shiny combat boots, and a radio on his waistband, he was ready for duty. On this day, however, Liz’s mother was not worried. He always had a good grip on his hat.

“Lisa, are you alright?” the guard asked. “You’re stunned. Sir Mark will be coming soon. The new CEO. We need to be vigilant.”

Lita just nodded. “Oh-yes. I’m fine.”

In fact, he felt a sense of relief. Marco—the new CEO who is visiting today for an important Board Meeting—is his son.

No one knew that she and her mother were in the building.

Lita used to be a street sweeper and laundryman. He stood up to Marcus on his own. He worked three shifts to get it to a good university. Marcus has been successful. Lita didn’t want to ruin her son’s image.

“It would be a shame if they found out that the CEO’s mom was just a contempt guard,” Lita muttered to herself. “He might be laughed at. Employees might think he comes from a low-income family.”

Soon after, the convoy arrived.

WANG-WANG!

The bodyguards went down. A black luxury car stopped across the lobby. The door opened and Mark walked out.

She was very sexy in her tailored suit. Her face was full of authority. He was surrounded by assistants and executives holding folders.

Everyone was terrified. “Good morning, sir!” greeted the receptionists and guards. They were greeted warmly.

Mother Lita, instead of saluting with a raised forehead, bowed her head.

He pulled his hat down to cover his face. He stepped back behind a large pillar. He wanted to be invisible. She didn’t want her son to see her face.

Marcus walked in. Dire-direct. The sound of his expensive shoes echoed through the lobby.

YES… YES… YES…

Liza took a deep breath. “Thank you. He didn’t see me. Her dignity is safe.”

Suddenly, however, the footsteps stopped.

The entire lobby fell silent.

Marco turned around. He saw a familiar figure hiding behind a pillar, crouching and trying to cover his face.

Marcus strayed out of the way. He left the Executives waiting in the elevator. He walked back to the entrance.

She stopped at Lita’s mother’s house.

“Mom?” called Mark.

All the employees were fired.

“Mom!” they yelled. “Who are you talking to, sir?”

Lita slowly lifted her face. He shuddered.

“S-Sir Marco…” Liz nodded, trying to be a good person. “Good morning, sir.”

Marco took off his expensive sunglasses. He nodded at his mother. He could see the sweat on her forehead, the wrinkle in her eyes, and the uniform she was wearing.

Instead of getting upset or walking away, Marco suddenly hugged his mother.

Tight hugs.
